I live for BTS

Not the K-Pop group. They’re great too.

But I truly love being behind the scenes and on set with passionate crew, talent, and clients. There’s nothing like it.

Here are some of my favorite moments behind the scenes.

Enjoy!

Let’s go to the moon!

Production Note: Creating “Moon Dust” is more complicated than it seems.

“Hey, let’s do a shoot where we jump out of planes.”

Production note: The skydiving team we partnered with for this shoot had a lot of feature film credits. My favorite credit? The 1995 classic Dumbo Drop.

R.I.P Phones

Production note: Sometimes, things don’t go according to plan.

Even though a missing phone or two is a possibility on these kinds of highly adventurous unboxing shoots, I still like to take a moment to remember their service.

Let’s go find some stars

Production note: We used a LOT of glowsticks at night to ensure our crew kept a safe distance from any dangerous cliff edges while filming at night. It looked beautiful.

Puerto Rican Ziplines

Production note: It’s possible to zipline through a rain cloud into another town at Toro Verde, the longest and fastest zipline in the Americas.

Probe lenses + water = Success

Production note: Fingerprints are EVERYWHERE. Just slap a probe lens on your camera, and you’ll discover how hard it is to be 100% fingerprint-free on product shots.

Binge-On-Up

Production note: We bought a small wooden coffin for this April Fools shoot. On Amazon. It was weird, but it looked great on camera.

Sharks!

Production note: Florida has great sharks. Some of the best in the business. Highly recommend.

We need like a lot mannequins

Production note: Dressing 30 mannequins and seating them at a banquet table is weird. That’s it. It’s just weird.
